The Department of Health Regional Office 6 conducted Garantisadong Pambata (GP) Forum and Conference at the Sarabia Manor Hotel, Iloilo City last October 13, 2014. The objected was to provide updates on the Expanded GP service and to facilitate LGU planning for advocacy and in sustaining the gains of GP activities/services in the provinces and cities.
Dr. Renilyn Reyes, FHN Cluster Head provided updates on Child Health and Nutrition services especially on the expanded program on immunization. Ms. Azucena Arroyo, Nutitionist-Dietitian presented the status of Vitamin A supplementation and logistical support, while Dr. Marie Jocelyn Te, Emerging and Re-emerging Infectious Diseases coordinator provided inputs on deworming.
Ms. Sherlyn Sedantes, Nutrition Officer II of the National Nutrition Council presented the status of submission of the 2014 "Operation Timbang" (OPT) results of preschool children. Ms. Melgazar Barboza, Nutritionist-Dietitian II of the Department of Education presented the nutritional stauts of school children.
