The Infectious Disease & EOH Cluster (TB Program) of the Department of Health Regional Office VI conducted PMDT training for treatment site last October 27-31, 2014 at the Days Hotel, Iloilo City. This was participated by physicians, nurses, midwives and BHWs from the different Rural Health Units of Negros Occidental.

The objective of the training is to enhance and prepare health personnel in managing MDRTB patients in their facilities. This will equipped health personnel to accept decentralized patients from treatment center.

 

The TB program of the DOH-Regional Office VI, Iloilo City conducted a TB Case Finding/Case Holding training for Indigenous People last October 22-24, 2014 at the Sarabia Manor Hotel.

Thirty-eight (38) tribe chieftains/BHWs were trained:

  • how to Manage TB Patients at their level
  • TB Case Finding/Case Holding
  • ACSM

This will ensure proper referral of TB Cases, especially from far flung areas.

The Infectious Disease and EOH Cluster (TB Program) of the DOH - Regional Office VI conducted an orientation on the new NTP-MOP at the Iloilo Midtown Hotel last October 21, 2014. This was participated by private practitioners from the province of Iloilo.

This will orient participants on the new standardized management protocols of TB cases especially on case finding/holding and infection control. 

Another training was conducted at Punta Villa Resort and Training Center last October 22-24, 2014 participated by health workers from the different hospitals in the province of Iloilo. The training aims to enhance the capacity of health workers to detect and treat TB in the hospitals and to enhance the TB referral system.
